This six-day course on Patmos will be focused on opening up and tuning the senses of sound, sight and touch.

Often we see without seeing, hear without hearing and touch without feeling. Our senses give us the ability to perceive, feel and become conscious of our environment, leading to a deeper appreciation and understanding of the world around us.

Course outline:

• Basic meditation exercises to calm the mind.
• Walks in the countryside and by the beach gathering natural objects.
• Making a musical instrument from the found objects.
• Composition of your own music and interaction of sounds and rhythms.
• Getting to know clay and making a clay sculpture.
• Exploring sound and colour.
• Photography: the order of pattern as a means of abstract expression.
• Painting your own abstract picture.

This course is a great way to get to know the island of Patmos as it is based outdoors and includes a reasonable amount of walking. All materials will be provided, however, as there is some photography involved, please bring a camera if you own one.
